The kind of work to show

A story. A clean edit. A useful result.

Our site focuses on practical skills for beginner freelancers. Relevant samples show that you can make an explanation clear, keep a short video focused and deliver files that are ready to use. You do not need every type of sample below; choose your strongest work.

01 / STORY

Short-form videos

Show an opening that establishes the topic, purposeful pacing and a clear ending. Reels, short explainers and concise promotional edits can demonstrate these decisions.

02 / CLARITY

Sound and captions

Choose a sample with understandable speech, balanced music and captions that stay readable on a phone. Accurate wording matters as much as an eye-catching effect.

03 / DELIVERY

Careful finishing

Show clean transitions, consistent framing and an export suited to its platform. Tell us whether you handled the edit, captions, graphics, sound or the complete video.

Make your work easy to review

A few good links.
A little useful context.

You can share client work when you have permission, or clearly labelled personal and practice projects. A beginner's honest sample is more useful than an unverified earnings claim.

For help choosing samples, see our portfolio checklist and video-editing practice guide.

Include in your email

  • Your name and a brief introduction. Say what you edit and the type of work that interests you.
  • Two or three relevant links. A showreel or individual samples are fine. Check that links can be viewed without an access request.
  • Your contribution to each sample. Identify what you created and credit collaborators where relevant.
  • Your tools and availability. Include editing software, time zone and realistic weekly capacity.
  • Your expected rate, if useful. State the currency and whether it is hourly or per project; the final scope still needs discussion.

Share viewing links rather than large attachments. Do not include passwords, identity documents, bank details or confidential client material.

Your next step

Send your portfolio.

The button opens a prepared draft in your email app. Add your details, check the links and press Send there. Nothing is submitted automatically.

A few practical answers

Before you get in touch

Is this a confirmed vacancy or a job offer?

This page accepts portfolio enquiries. It does not promise an opening, an interview, regular work or a particular income. A specific assignment, if available, needs a separate discussion.

Can I apply with practice work?

Yes. Label it as practice work and explain the brief and your decisions. Do not present it as a paid client project or claim results you cannot substantiate.

What about payment and deadlines?

Include your expected rate if you wish. Before accepting any assignment, agree the scope, fee, payment milestones, revisions, rights and deadline in writing. No salary or project rate is advertised on this page.

Do I need to make a free sample first?

No new custom sample is required to send a portfolio enquiry. Share work you already have. If a later discussion involves a test, clarify its scope, payment and permitted use before starting.

When will I hear back?

Response timing depends on availability and a suitable brief. Sending a message does not guarantee a reply or selection. For a website error or another question, use Contact and Corrections.
